Bartec Announces the TECH400SD

October 2011 Bartec Announces the TECH400SD

Bartec, Industry leader in TPMS tools and solutions announces the latest innovation in Combination Type TPMS Tools, the TECH400SD! Improving on the widely used TPMS Diagnostic and Programming tool, the TECH400+, Bartec added features and functionality to help Tire Shops and Repair Facilities build their success in TPMS!

The TECH400SD offers market leading coverage for the diagnosis and repair of the TPMS of Domestic and Import vehicles. Through its uniquely robust OBD cable, the TECH400SD can diagnose problems and reset the TPMS control module of Imported Vehicles particularly Asian makes such as Acura, Hyundai, Kia, Infiniti, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda, Subaru and Toyota. Also, because the TECH400SD is also an activation tool, it can quickly activate the TPMS Sensors during a domestic car relearn on such makes as GM and Ford.

Bartec listened to the market and have added three very important features to an already industry leading TPMS tool.

Update with Removable Media – Fitted to the top of the TECH400SD is an SD Card slot. Using a commonly available SD card loaded with tool software, the end user no longer needs a PC, Laptop or internet connection to update their tool. Simply insert the SD card and follow the on screen instructions and within seconds, the TECH400SD is up to date and ready to use.

On-board relearn procedures – Possibly the most important feature improvement was including the TPMS relearn procedures on the tool. Now in the palm of their hand, the technician will have all the necessary instructions to properly use the tool to relearn, reset or program the vehicle’s TPMS. No longer is it necessary to go to alternative references or look up tables. Bartec has always offered the most complete information at the tool. Valuable data like sensor part number and technical specification right on the display. Including the relearn procedure in the tool, places all the critical information you need in the palm of your hand. The TECH400SD will be a technician’s most valuable tool!

Raised button keypad – This new feature provides long lasting use and an improved tactile feel for improved response and durability. Bartec, already known for supplying the more robust TPMS solution, has made the TECH400SD even better!

June 2011
The Three T's of TPMS Service!

TECH400 PlusAs you know, Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) are a mandated safety technology found on all cars and light trucks sold in the U.S. For more than 13 years, TPMS has been offered on passenger vehicles, and now, there are more than a quarter BILLION sensors on the road!

Question: What does this mean to automotive service technicians, particularly those in wheel and tire service?

Answer: More Business!

As TPMS sensor batteries begin to go flat, expect more customers in your service bays. TPMS service work is on the rise.Till now, the majority of TPMS related service work has been a result of 'broken sensors.' Whether during the wheel/tire service, or on the road, it is easy to understand how sensors can be damaged. The trend however, is you will soon see sensors with low or dead batteries.

To be in the best position to deal with this upcoming surge in business, you need to embrace the THREE T's OF TPMS. They are: Tools, Training, and Tech Support!

Tools - To properly diagnose, then service and program a TPMS – you MUST HAVE a TPMS re-learn tool and a complete range of mechanical tools.  The re-learn tool must activate and decode all sensors and must connect to the OBD to complete the re-learn.

Training - Success in TPMS requires a complete understanding of the terminology, system components and the procedures for repair.

Tech Support - There's no getting around it.  TPMS is complex and challenging.  It is critical to align yourself with a reliable and knowledgeable source of technical support.

The bottom line: don't be fooled by those that describe TPMS service in 'perfect scenarios.'  Rather, get the facts from a supplier that teaches trains and supports 'real life' service situations.  Be prepared, do your homework and go out and get that new business!

Toyota Vehicle Range & Programmable Sensors with the TECH400Plus!

Programming the EZ-sensor®EZ-sensor® PROGRAMMABLE TPMS is the first Programmable Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor which has been designed with the goal of replacing 90% of the TPMS sensors currently stocked by the dealer including the Toyota Vehicle Range.

There are over 120 SKU's of tire sensors fitted to North American vehicles and the repair task has become ever more complex as a result. EZ-sensor® simplifies the TPMS replacement process, dramatically reduces the costs of inventory, and avoids those lost sales.

Schrader® based the design on their patented and proven Snap-In design and arranged for the programming software to be available on the market leading TPMS tools: their AirAware and the Bartec TECH400 range. This means that for the majority of customers no extra investment in new tools is required and programming the EZ-sensor® programmable sensors are seamless with their current processes.

EZ-sensor® - Easy Fitment to Honda Vehicles using the TECH400Plus

Programming the EZ-sensor®Why Stock Anything Else?

The myriad of TPMS fitments, vehicles and programming processes is making the servicing and replacement of TPMS and TPMS related problems more difficult to diagnose and rectify.
The EZ-sensor® simplifies this process, reduces stock and coupled with the portable programming tool makes the diagnosis, selection of vehicle and servicing of TPM easy and efficient.

The EZ-sensor® fitment Process - The EZ-sensor® is based on the already popular Snap-In or pull through body that Schrader® are already supplying as an OEM part to many vehicle manufacturers today already.
The key advantage to this body type is that there are no special tools required (other than a stem puller) to mount the TPM onto the wheel and tire assembly.

  • NO EXPENSIVE TOOLING REQUIRED
  • FAST SIMPLE ASSEMBLY
  • EASILY REPLACES ALL OTHER TPM TYPES
  • REPLACEABLE RUBBER STEM
  • PATENTED DESIGN EXTESIVELY USED ALREADY IN AUTO INDUSTRY
  • MINIMAL TRAINING REQUIRED FOR FITTERS
  • FITS STEEL AND ALUMINIUM WHEELS
  • READY TO GO OUT OF THE BOX
