Wheelrite TECH300 Plus - Tutorial Media File

Welcome to the Wheelrite TECH300 Plus TPMS Tool Media File. You can use this media file in conjunction with our comprehensive online automotive database which will provide information on your vehicle year, make, model and sub model. To access the online database you will need to register your TPMS Tool or log in if you have already subscribed. The Media File opens within your standard browser using our inbuilt web page media player. The duration of the file is just under 7.45 minutes.

Wheelrite TECH300 Plus does everything the TECH300 does but uses its bright clear backlit graphical display and menu system to navigate and display its data. This lightweight compact diagnostic tool enables the technician to pre-select the vehicle make/model/year using its easy to use menu system. This leads to fast and accurate activations and decodes of TPMS and display of their data and any faults. This tool also displays the replacement part number and service kit. It will advise the user if the wrong TPMS has been fitted. The TECH300 Plus works with all cars and TPMS types and can be used to reprogram vehicle ECU and turn out the warning light if the vehicle has a 'relearn mode'. It is battery powered and software upgradeable.

In the Wheelrite TECH300 Plus training video we outline for you:

  • How to get started with the TECH300 Plus
  • How to connect up to a PC for the download of test information
  • How to use the easy-to-use graphical display for the selection of Make/Model/Year on the tool to achieve fast activation and decode of TPMS data
  • How to activate and decode TPMS on a vehicle and how the TECH300 Plus display shows the read progress
  • Using the display to identify Pressure, temperature, TPMS ID, battery status & replacement part number
  • How to do a pre-service scan and run the tool in audit mode
  • What to do in the event of sensor replacement, control module replacement or sensor repositioning
  • Reprogramming the vehicle control module and turning out the warning light
  • Using the Mitchell1 Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems Guide or Bartec technical website to get the repair procedure including putting the vehicle into 'learn mode'.
  • Reprogramming the vehicle control module and turning out the warning light
  • How to get regular software updates for new TPMS, new cars etc and reprogram your tool

Training is increasingly important for a number of reasons. The deadline for implementation of the Tread Act was September 2007 so dealers are still seeing only a limited number of cars coming in with the TPMS warning light on. We can expect this trickle to turn into a flood over the next few years. Those dealers who train their technicians now and equip with good tools can expect to establish leadership in this new field. The legislation states that if the dealer breaks down the wheel to investigate a faulty TPMS then he cannot allow the driver to leave without fixing the problem. We have heard of instances already where the customer, presented with the bill, says 'well you must have broken the sensor when you broke down the wheel' and then contests the bill. The audit process on the Wheelrite tools allow you to test out the TPMS without breaking down the wheel and then ask the customer whether he wants to pay for the work whilst you can still let him drive away if he says 'No'. There are many aspects of this new technology which require good training and information. Whether you are diagnosing a faulty TPMS, replacing a TPMS, rotating wheels, reprogramming the vehicle ECU, turning off the warning light or just trying to identify the correct replacement part then good training and tools are essential.
