TPMS Battery Condition Test

April 14, 2023

Bartec USA, the globally recognized leader in TPMS service, announces their latest innovation as they tackle the longstanding issue of TPMS sensor battery condition. Available now in a new software release for the Tech550Pro, the TECH600Pro and the TechRITEPro TPMS tools, the software allows the technician to test the battery status of TPMS sensors on the vehicle.

TPMS Battery Condition Test

In a typical scenario, where the driver brings their car into the workshop with the warning light on, the Bartec tools can firstly be used to identify which wheel position has generated the fault condition. With the latest software the technician can then test the condition of the TPMS sensors in the other wheel positions. This can be seen as consistent with the tire check process where all treads are measured as a matter of course. When the warning light has been generated by a low battery in one sensor it is logical that other TPMS sensors fitted to the vehicle at the same time and therefore having had the same usage may also be due for change. The customer can be shown the test results and can avoid a return visit by changing out those other sensors which are likely to fail in the near future. The sale value is increased for the workshop and the customer gets an improved service.

This new feature is included in the latest software update for the Tech550Pro, the TECH600Pro and the TechRITEPro TPMS tools and continues the Bartec core theme of developing innovation that helps the technician service more cars! The latest software release version 65.1 is now available for download on the Tech300Pro, Tech500 and Tech400Pro tools, software version 5.1 for the Tech550Pro, the Tech600Pro, and the TechRITEpro and version 9.2 for the TPMS Desktop!

In addition to again increasing the coverage for the market’s fastest growing replacement sensor, the Rite-Sensor®, Bartec also announces additional vehicle coverage as well as an update to the TPMS Desktop utility. Product Manager Matthew Hitchcock explains, “Bartec produces a minimum of four tool updates annually, making us the market leader when it comes to maintaining current coverage. Bartec is continually adding coverage for the most popular aftermarket sensors as well. That means more Rite-Sensor® Coverage, EZ-Sensor® Coverage, REDI-sensor® Coverage and Huf Intellisens® coverage for our range of TPMS tools!” For a complete description of what is in the latest update, visit the Bartec website at, or click here.

For more than twenty years, the Global Bartec TPMS Team has continuously delivered more “first to market” innovation. Whether it be the revolutionary RITE-SYNC® process which forever changed sensor programming and vehicle relearns, to VINdicate® which automates TPMS tool set up, Bartec innovations solves problems and makes TPMS service easier for technicians. Bartec listens to customer feedback and turns it into better functioning tools and processes!

RITE-SYNC® is a tool-controlled process that is unique to Bartec TPMS Tools and the Bartec RITE-SENSOR®. When using Bartec’s RITE-SENSOR® and the RITE-SYNC® process, the TPMS service is just like working with an OE, single part replacement. According to Scot Holloway Bartec CEO, “one thing common to all TPMS services is that whenever a new sensor is installed, a TPMS relearn is required. RITE-SYNC® combines sensor PROGRAMMING with the VEHICLE RELEARN, making a single and fast process that is accurate and repeatable.” “One thing we recognize about TPMS service is the need for simple, repeatable and fast processes, and RITE-SYNC® does all three!” Holloway continued.
